While its a bit of slow period for global Thrill The World, TTW Calgary HQ has been starting to make plans for our 2010 event. We learned so much from our inaugural event and we are determined to tweak all of those little areas that need tweaking (Outdoors. Dancing. In October? Uhm, no.) and makes sure we keep doing those things that made our first event so successful! So be sure to drop by now and then for the latest and greatest TTW Calgary info!

Rest assured, 2010 will be even bigger, badder, and more zombified than 2009!

We also want to send a huge thank you to the guys in Random Task Collective for playing a set during our rehearsal break (rad!) and for providing their audio system for us to use. On a side note, we want to send out a very special thanks to Patti Derbyshire for being completely awesome, helping us with anything we threw at her, and calming some pretty rattled nerves during a few tense moments. Last, and certainly not least, we want to thank our volunteers. We had a small army of about thirty awesome people that helped us throw this thing together. This event wouldn’t have been successful without any of them. They are the glue that holds this runaway train together. Thanks, guys!

Yet again, I have probably missed someone to thank, but just know that we appreciate EVERYONE who helped with this event. So thank you!

Pre-registration has closed, but you will be able to register on-site if you didn’t make the cut-off. But remember, if you are underage, you will need parental unit consent if you want to dance. Click here to download the waiver. No waiver, no dancing. Period.

Despite the giddy, I need to touch on some key things to remind everyone about:

SIGN-IN:
Zombie registration and sign-in begins at 3:00 and goes until 5:00 pm. We will be set up in the ATCO Centre.

SIGN-OUT:
After we dance, everyone MUST sign-out to be counted towards our record attempt numbers. If you don’t sign-out, YOU WILL NOT BE COUNTED. And all of the Zombies around the world will be SAD! We are trying to ensure that sign-out as organized as possible, but if you can please remember to return to the registration kiosk that you sign-in at, it would GREATLY help reduce chaos.

UNDERAGE PARTICIPANTS:
Yup, another reminder about those waivers. We can’t stress it enough that if you don’t bring your waiver signed by your parental units, then you DON’T DANCE. Also, if you have any friends who have not registered and are planning on participating, make sure they know about the waiver rules. Better still, get them to pre-register!

FUNDRAISING:
We are raising money for Wellspring Calgary so please make sure you either bring your completed pledge forms and all money that you raised or your donation. All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.

PRIZES:
Remember, we will be handing out some ridiculously awesome prizes for Best Costume and the Most Money Raised/Donated for Wellspring Calgary.

COSTUMING:
Please try and come to the event in full costume. Or as near to full as possible. There will be no designated area for costuming.
