Thrill The World is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and is the brainchild of Ines Markelle, a choreographer and dance instructor in Toronto, Ontario.

2009 marks the fourth year of Thrill The World. From its inception in 2006, participation numbers have grown exponentially. From a mere 62 Zombies in 2006 to 4,179 people in 10 countries dancing simultaneously in 2008. This year our goal is to reach one million.

With this year sadly marking the death of the King of Pop, this tribute to Michael Jackson is even more special. It is our hope that this year’s event will be a fantastic global celebration of his life, music, and legacy.

Thrill The World Calgary is a group of people from all walks of life and all ages who love “Thriller”, love to have fun, and yes, dress up like Zombies! This year, all of our good, little Zombies will be helping to raise funds for Wellspring Calgary, a resource centre dedicated to giving emotional, psychological and informational support to cancer patients and their families.

Thrill The World Calgary 2009 will be taking place on October 24th, 2009 at the main parking lot at Canada Olympic Park! While the dancing doesn’t commence until 6:30 pm (Sharp!), Zombie sign-in/registration opens at 3:00 pm and runs through to 5:00 pm.
